I worked a bit on my Chevron Winter Pillow, but I didn't bother taking a picture since there wasn't much difference to see.. I did however start with the knitting version of the basketweave stitch! It's one of the many stitches I wanted to learn.
It's kind of hard to see because of the yarncolor.. Sorry about that! I think I'm getting the hang of it, though I'm still experimenting (numbers of rows before switching, if that makes sense?) to see what kind of look I like. I have to say though, to me it does look very different from the crocheted version of the basketweave:
Other than that I used a candy corn crochet pattern to make some cat-toys with some left-over yarn for the animal shelter.
I do hope the cats at the shelter will like it, my kitten Nala is not interested in these... She just loves to play with the yarn, just like her mommy. (litterally, she just steals the yarn when I'm not looking!)
I'd really love to make myself (or at least start) a beanie next week. I have been wanting to start making a beanie for a while now, but I just can't decide which pattern and which color(s)! Do I have "beanie block"?

You make such lovely things!
And Nala is adorable!
The knit basketweave is totally different to the crochet one and if anything the crochet looks most like my idea of basketweave. I've done the knit version but not the crochet one, I must give it a go. Hope you find your beanie pattern and give it a go, nothing as comfy really.
I have never noticed such difference before between knit and crochet basket weave! Cool.
The candy corn toys are cool... Great stash busting project!
Beanies are fun. Were you thinking knit or crochet?
Your cat is ADORABLE!!!!!!!! And I'm a fan of the basketweave too..in both versions..I just love the look of it...
AWW, thank you Gina!
I agree Ruth, the crochet version looks more like basketweave..
Thank you Christine! I've never knitted a beanie before, so I'd love to find an easy knit pattern! But crochet is of course also lovely!
Aw Tammy I agree that Nala's adorable! Of course I'm totally biased ^^
The thing is there are so many lovely beanies to do and lovely colours - you could always do many and see how they go! I like the look of the knitted basketweave - I will have to give it a go!
I love how the basketweave comes out in crochet. Those candy corn catty nips are too cute.
Gosh, Nala is sooo cute! Look at that little face. My cat only bothers with my yarn when she's trying to get my attention. She knows exactly how to control me :0
What a clever idea, using the candy corn pattern to make cat toys!
Oh, your kitten is so sweet...look at that innocent face surrounded by stolen yarn. LOL! Mine will sit next to me very quietly until I llok down and realize she's been chewing on my yarn.
The basket weave really is different between knitting and crocheting. I've done the knitting one but I think I like the crocheted one better but I've never tried it. I'll add that to my "never-ending" list of projects. Have a great week!
I too have a little yarn-stealing kitty!
I love the basketweave! It's one of my favorite patterns to knit and crochet, and it always looks so nice.
