Do you do 'freezer cooking'?

Good morning! Lately I've been thinking a lot about freezer cooking..  I have to admit I rarely freeze my cooking, but supposedly freezer cooking would make your life easier and your cooking cheaper.. The only thing is, fiance and I are picky eaters and I'm having a hard time finding recipes that sound deliciously good to try! So far I've found 3 recipes that I want to try:

1. Breakfast Burritos from Hot Coupon World

Freezer Breakfast Burritos

2. Chicken Enchiladas from Annie's Eats

3. Spicy Kale Lasagna from the Oven Love Blog

... I might have to search the web some more for more blogs/recipes. But how about you? Do you cook&freeze? What's your favourite meal to 'freezer cook'?

Halfway YoP, how about that?

Hi lovelies! Hope everyone had as great a Christmas as we did? Ours was filled with yummy food & drinks and a lot(!) of downtime. We've seen a lot of movies, from 'The Sound of Music' to 'The Purge' to 'The Lone Ranger'  to 'Terms of Endearment'. And we started watching the 'Once Upon a Time - series'. Needles to say, I was able to do some crocheting and knitting, though I have to mention my pace was very relaxed....

I finished the Snuggle Wrap and decided it needed a crocheted border, and then the border needed an edging.. You can see some mistakes in my knitting, which I can accept since this blanket will also be donated to the animal shelter. I'm just happy I have a bit more knitting experience.

Putting it away!

I've always wanted to be a bit more organized than... I am. For example with jewelry. I have never ever in my life been able to put all my jewelry in one place, looking orderly.. It's Always in a big pile looking very chaotic. Or - and I don't really like to admit this - I'd just put it 'anywhere' since there wasn't really a designated place to put my jewelry to begin with. Well no more I said! So (with a little inspiration of Pinterest) I created:

1) An Earring organizer (inside right closet door)
using a large picture (collage) frame from the eurostore, 2 hooks and a bit of lace

Gifts Gifts Gifts

How's everybody?! Are you also 'enjoying' the fall weather? We (Amsterdam) have experienced a heavy storm with huge trees falling into parked cars and it even got a woman killed when a tree fell on her! Luckily, the weather's been behaving itself since then..

I got a bit delayed this week writing this post since fiance and I were so busy. We had a lot of family and friends coming over and I was especially busy with presents and gifts this week. First, I had arranged a 'high tea' for my friends at my house, and gifted them the Schnuggle packets I made for them. And, since one of my friends just had a newborn baby girl, I also made some cute headbands last minute:

Schnuggle packets and Cozy wraps experiments

The moment I made my first Rice Pillow, I immediately thought of making more of them as gifts for the holidays. I began experimenting with various sizes as well as researching for the best yarns and fillings. Here's what I found:

Getting My Green On > Growing Lemon Seeds

Unfortunately, I wasn't born with green fingers/a green thumb. I'm grateful if plants in my house last over a year. I really try to care for them, but somehow I just can't keep them alive for much longer! As for my balcony, I usually buy the one-year bloomers because I know other plants won't last..
But I've decided I want to change that.. I only have a balcony at the moment, but hopefully one day I'll have my own garden. And by then, hopefully I'll be GREAT at gardening! And as they say: "practice makes perfect".

So when I found this photo tutorial on Pinterest, I decided to give it a try.

I love my Mom

I love my mom. And her birthday is coming up. I'm not sure what to get her! She's one of those persons who has everything already! And she'll probably won't LOVE something handmade.. After all, I'm not 6 anymore ^_^

Although... I probably could make something. Something lovely. But what? I already crocheted a shawl for her last christmas. She did love that..

What have you given your mom on her last birthday? Did she give you hints what to give her or did you think of it yourself?

I'll need to think about it.. In the meantime suggestions are welcome!

Blowing Bubbles

I have this theory: I believe there's a little girl hidden in every one, that sometimes wants to get out. Proffesional lawyer-ladies, mothers, grandma's and yes - even men/boys want to be a little girl sometimes. Because little girls get spoiled - often more than little boys - don't have to act tough and get away with a lot. That's my theory and I hope everyone will embrace that one day.

(By the way that's my #3 random facts about me, if you'd like to read 6 other random facts, click here!)

We love Lush!

We can smell it!

Spring is finally here and Lush has a special package to celebrate called spring-a-ding. It's always so tricky when you're @ Lush and you have to choose what kind of delicious soaps, bodylotions, shampoos, or scrubs you want to take home...

I really really really want to believe that this gift package is the solution for my next Lush visit: I can just buy spring-a-ding instead of grabbing and wanting to BUY everything I see! But.. I know I will be tempted anyway.. and I just can't resist!!

Fuel that happiness!

When browsing (maybe more shopping ^^) two days ago, I found this welcome mat which I thought had a great quote:

I thought: what a nice thing to do for yourself if you buy a welcome mat like that! But since I already have a welcome mat, I thought: hmmm can I come up with something else.. Maybe I can... .... ....

Wishes for our beloved

It's still November but I like to send my christmas cards before the "busy period", especially when I'm sending internationally. This year I've decided to send something a bit different.

I found this lovely quote via Pinterest, and I love it so much I've decided to share it with my family overseas.

Since it would be to heavy to send a block of wood/stone, I've re-made the quote on my computer and used one of my old picture frames so they can easily put it on their fireplace or another place in their home. Little will they know that they're a picture of me and my beloved inside! (hopefully they will one day open that picture frame!)

Here's a free printable of the template I used (just save and print!) (:

Blogger's Blues? I'm back!

Hi everybody!! Long time no see!
I've been on a holiday for one week in August and after that I somehow really didn't feel like blogging untill today! Could I have had the blogger blues?

Anyway, I'm still very alive and I missed being in the blogosphere! My blogger blues are over :) and since fall is coming so soon, I'd thought I'd share 4 DIY projects to keep being crafty on those cold & rainy days! Hope it inspires you!

1) Make a fall wreath
What better way to to welcome and celebrate fall: a fall wreath!
On a_pretty_life_in_the_suburbs_blog is a great tutorial on how to make a wreath like the one below:

A big smile ~ even when it rains..

Rain, wind, darkness and horror is all we got for the last couple of weeks. Okay the horror part I just added, but still!
I had written down this lovely message in my hallway months ago, and decided it was time for a new message! Inspired by my outfit, I erased the old message and started chalking. Here's the result:

Lily Razz webdesign in the making!

Finally I managed to get some kind of customized design uploaded to this blog! I'm such a newbie at blogging and I've never worked with custom css so it took me a while to understand what I was doing.

My old blog design was pre-defined and although it was cute, I really wanted to get some of my own stuff in there.

My Poofy Ball Coco

I just wanted to share my poofy ball with ya'll ^^. His actual name is Coco, but he really only responds to the name "Peachy" (I found out only about 2 years ago - and I'm not sure how) and I really don't know why! Now I think: "It fits him more really.. His forehead is kind of peach-colored.."  Usually he really does not like my creative projects.. He wants attention, and if he's not getting it he will try to demolish whatever is keeping him from that.

Cable Tidy

Yesterday evening I made this cable tidy. Cuz I don't like cables, they annoy me. Sometimes I wish that I had a totally "wireless" home. Cables are just so.. UGLY!
